After saving the life of one of the pyreheart-vespoya Faber has ingratiated himself with the family. However, they do not know that he let the assassination attempt go further than it needed to help ingratiate himself with the family more - Faber knew that they were never in any danger as he was far more skilled than the small group attempting the assassination, and realised that letting it get to the point of the assassination attempt almost happening and stopping it just in time would be more beneficial than just stopping it immediately and telling them that he had stopped an assassination attempt
